No cash? No problem. I accept mobile phones too.

As I reported for an article on Thursday with my colleague Clarie Caine Miller, if some new start-ups have their way, carrying cash, or rushing off to the A.T.M. to settle a bill, might soon be replaced by bumping two phones together or swiping a credit card on a mobile device.

During our reporting, we spoke with several people and businesses that have started experimenting with these mobile technologies in place of cash registers or random cash transactions.
